Dear INTR10 conference participant
Why not relax from the strenuous conference day and get to know Freiburg by joining a tour through town? Discover not only the cultural and historical diversity of Freiburg on foot but also get a taste of the Kaiserstuhl by trying some of the regions finest wines.
We are happy to offer our meeting participants 3 different professionally organized tours through Freiburg on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008. These tours will all start at 18:30 directly from the Concert House and will take you through our beautiful medieval town.
As the number of participants per tour is limited, we operate on a first come first serve basis. In order to register for one of the tours please fill out the form below. We will confirm your registration by email. The fee for the tour can be paid on site at the registration desk. Please remember that we can only offer these tours to conference participants who have already registered for the meeting.

1.) Discover Freiburg on foot
Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
Costs: 4,00€ per person
Max participants: 25
Discover Freiburg’s scenic highlights on this informative tour through the narrow alleys, hidden market
squares and medieval streets. The tour will guide you along the historic town center in the evening light visiting sights such as the gothic cathedral ‘Münster’, to the historical town hall and the gates of Freiburg. Experience Freiburg in the light of the evening sun, which illuminates the artfully crafted facades and market squares just as dusk settles.
The tour is an easy stroll through town guided by a professional tour guide.

2.) Discover Freiburg und its wines
Duration: 2 hours
Costs: 17,00€ per person including wines
Max participants: 25
During this wine-tour the guests will discover the history of Freiburg’s viniculture and which of the medieval
buildings have in the past played a substantial role in the development of Freiburg as a central town in the wine region. The tour will take you not only through the streets of the town but will also show you Freiburg’s netherworld by visiting the oldest still existing ‘Tiefenkeller’, the deep-cellar, hidden far beneath Freiburg. Along this tour the participants will have the opportunity to taste several of the region’s finest wines.
The tour is an easy stroll through town and cellars guided by a professional tour guide. Wine tasting will include a wine in the Roten Bären and 3 wines at the Alte Wache.

3.) Graveyard, ghosts and murderer tour
Duration: 2 hours (if you can handle it)
Costs: 6,00€ per person
Max participants: 30
This tour is not for the faint hearted. Dare to discover places of mystery and imagination in Freiburg. Who is
the “White Lady” at the castle? What scared a grave-robber to death? In the dim light of a lantern this classic ghost walk through the old part of Freiburg visits hidden graveyards, haunted houses and enchanted parks.
But beware, strange things are known to happen during this tour…
